I absolutely adored the vintage decor and cozy atmosphere of this place. The common areas were charming and had plenty of comfortable seating for us seniors to relax and chat. Additionally, the hotel's accessibility was impressive, with easy elevator access and clearly marked signage throughout, making it convenient for senior guests to navigate.

I would just ask for a better vacation experience if the children working there could be a bit more attentive to the needs of senior guests.

The hostel’s convenient location made it easy for us to access various subway stations, ensuring a smooth commute to Manhattan or Brooklyn. Rooms were well-kept, offering privacy, and comfortable mattresses. The reading room had a printer that we could use.

The kitchen and eating area are small for the hostel’s size.

The hostel had a great atmosphere with a buzzing bar and a cool community space. the rooftop terrace offered fantastic views of the city, especially at night. the hostel's location was convenient, with easy access to subway stations and plenty to do nearby.

The heating in the bedrooms was a bit challenging to control, as the provided electric radiator struggled to warm up the large rooms. Some towels in the hostel were not as clean as they could have been.

Our family had an amazing time at The Local Ny! The children's corner in the library provided a cozy retreat for our kids, with brightly colored chairs and a book exchange that kept them entertained for hours. Attending a performance in the event space was a blast; the ambiance was lively, and the top comedians had us all in stitches. The friendly staff made us feel at home, and the clean, spacious rooms were a welcome retreat after our adventures.

In my wife's opinion, more children-friendly activities beyond the library could enhance the family experience even further.

The garden out back is a hidden gem for outdoor drinking. The nearby restaurants have Michelin stars, and the hotel has cool events like movie nights and live bands. Long Island City must have had a renaissance and I missed it!
